No - Texas does not license general contractors statewide. For electrical or HVAC work, search the contractor's name at tdlr.texas.gov. For plumbing, search tsbpe.texas.gov. This site doesn't show license status directly - this permit history is a separate, complementary check, not a substitute for verifying licensing directly with the state.

What does an open or expired permit mean?

An "Active" permit means work is in progress and hasn't been finaled by the city yet.
